Contract crop production to your exact specifications

Indigo ProductionTM provides buyers with the opportunity to contract with Indigo to produce crops with specific quality, characteristics, and/or farm management practices. Examples of specifications that Indigo Production allows buyers to contract:

  • Organic crops
  • Organic white corn
  • Grain from non-irrigated fields
  • 25% less nitrogen (grain from)
  • Non-GM crops
  • Specific variety
  • Specific location
  • Carbon footprint reduced

Here's how it works

Step 1: contract

Indigo contracts with farmers who will grow to your specification.

Step 2: quality

Indigo provides treated seed and agronomic advice to ensure your quality and sustainability standards.

Step 3: identity preservation

Your crop is harvested and stored on-farm to ensure identity preservation.

Step 4: DELIVERY

Your crop is quality-tested and delivered directly to your location.

At Grain Craft, we care about our flour — the quality, the way it’s produced, and the farmers who produce it. We are partnering with Indigo to produce traceable and sustainable flour at scale. This is a new way of doing business that’s responsive to the needs of our customers.

Alan Koenig

Chief Supply Chain Officer at Grain Craft, Tennessee

With Indigo, we’re looking at safe products that we can get maximum value out of. The Indigo model lets us try new products and compare them with peers around the state of Kansas. It’s very exciting, because we’re all trying to get back to what’s natural — what’s safe for our farms and our families.

Thayne Larson

Kansas

Ag production today is extremely difficult — we’ve seen a lot of three-generation farms disappear. As a grandfather, there’s nothing I’d want more than to see this farm to pass on from generation to generation. On our farm, it’s important that we bridge the gap between profitability and sustainability, and that’s part of Indigo’s mission as well.

Fred Schields
