Ponsi brings a wealth of experience in agribusiness to her role as Indigo’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Having served most recently as Regional Director and President of Syngenta Seeds North America, Ponsi has managed over $1 billion in seeds assets and overseen commercial operations in seeds, biotechnology, crop protection, and seed treatment, with an emphasis on maximizing ROI and farmer revenue. 

Prior to this, Ponsi spearheaded Syngenta’s business across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), where, as Syngenta’s first female Head of Territory, she was instrumental in driving crop productivity gains and sales growth in five countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. She also took the reins in several other capacities at the Syngenta Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. As Global Corn and GM Traits Unit Head, she developed Syngenta’s overall biotechnology traits strategy, completed seminal traits licensing deals, and managed the corn portfolio, the Company’s largest crop portfolio. Ponsi then shifted her attention to the US, where she played a crucial role in the creation of Syngenta’s North American growth strategy and became the North American representative for the Syngenta Global Commercial Leadership Team.

Prior to Syngenta, Ponsi spent seven years at McKinsey & Company, where she collaborated with a variety of public and private-sector clients in the design and implementation of business plans. Her work at McKinsey took her to the United States, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Asia. Also in Asia, Ponsi spent several years on the corporate finance team at Merrill Lynch Phatra. She holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.  Ponsi, her husband, and her two children have recently moved to Boston.
