CLIPS™ by Indigo
Biological Seed Treatment Applicator
What is it?
The CLIPS device is an innovative dry powder application system. It provides a convenient and consistent means for
applying FP formulations for up to 50 units of seeds stored in a bulk seed box, and allows products to be “applied” on seed up to a year in advance*.
The device holds a single sealed pod containing a flowable powder application. Once installed inside a bulk seed box, the pod remains sealed until the seeds are released from the bottom of the box. Then, the device’s arm pulls down and opens the pod, evenly and effortlessly coating the seeds.
Why use CLIPS?
Bigger Application Window
Apply seed coatings during your slower time of the year, saving valuable time during the busy planting season. Simply install the device in the bulk seed box and set it aside until it’s time to plant.
Eliminates Several Steps
Farmer customers do not need to carry, open, and apply packets of FP seed coatings
during planting. They also do not need to remember to remove the desiccant pouch.
Reduces Exposure
By sealing the product inside a pod and also the bulk seed box, opportunity for product exposure is reduced, even on windy days.
Supports an Even Coating
Using CLIPS for FP bio applications results in an even seed coating — on par with or better than manual application rates — and has been proven to do so in a variety of tests.
Indigo Ag’s CLIPS device has been a standout addition to our product lineup. In trials this spring, it’s proven to simplify the seed coating process, reduce product exposure, and enhance the consistency of applications. This innovation is a win-win for us and our customers.

This innovative strategic partnership with Indigo will create value for our member-owners, both through the licensing of the groundbreaking CLIPS system, as well as through Indigo’s market-leading biological portfolio.
Mark Orr
Biologicals hold tremendous promise for improving crop productivity, but adoption has often been limited by challenges in stability, shelf life, and application. Indigo’s CLIPS system effectively removes those barriers, delivering a practical and innovative solution for on-farm use. Based on the strong results we’ve seen in the field this year, we’re confident in the performance of Indigo’s biotrinsic® products and proud to expand access to this proven technology through our FS cooperative network.
