Sr. Director, Commercial Biologicals

About This Role

The Sr. Director, Commercial Biologicals will drive commercial growth of Indigo’s biologicals portfolio in North America. This leader will focus on sales strategy, execution, and channel development, expanding Indigo’s footprint through strong retailer and distributor partnerships.

The ideal candidate brings a deep network, proven sales leadership experience, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. This role reports into the VP, North America Commercial, Biologicals.

What You'll Do

Commercial Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead commercial sales strategy and execution for Indigo’s biologicals portfolio in North America

  • Set growth targets and deliver against annual revenue and market share goals

  • Drive disciplined sales planning, pipeline development, and forecasting to achieve growth objectives

  • Champion the use of CRM tools to enable data-driven decisions, visibility, and accountability

  • Support strategic partnerships with national and regional distributors and retailers and coordinate Indigo field sales resources to support national accounts.

Market Expansion & Channel Development:

  • Strengthen Indigo’s presence in both established and emerging markets through focused channel expansion

  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure effective brand positioning and demand generation programs

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial sales team (~10 professionals)

  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture with a strong bias for action and accountability

  • Partner closely with Agronomy, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams to support successful commercial execution

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in the agricultural input industry, with a strong focus on commercial sales and channel development

  • 5+ years of experience working with North American retailers/co-ops/seed dealers

  • 5+ years of experience leading a sales team, meeting or exceeding sales targets

  • Established, trusted relationships with national and regional retailers and distributors

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales growth targets through effective planning and execution

  • Familiarity with white label commercialization and go-to-market strategies

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive commercial success in fast-paced environments

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and team leadership skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, agronomy, or related field; advanced degree a plus

How We'll Take Care of You

  • Base salary of $190,000-$210,000 annually

  • Sales incentive plan

  • Equity options & annual cash incentives

Pay Transparency Statement

Indigo is committed to competitive and equitable pay for all employees. The listed pay range for this role is a good faith estimate of the hiring range for this position. Compensation offered will be determined based on several factors including an individual’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Benefits Statement

All regular, full-time, permanent employees who work 30 hours or more each week are eligible to enroll in Indigo’s benefits. Additionally, all full-time employees and some parttime employees are eligible for paid time off as outlined above. Based on their role, employees may also be eligible to receive long-term equity incentives and annual cash incentives.
