Senior Accountant

We are excited to add a Senior Accountant to our team! As a Sr. Accountant at Indigo, you will play a key role in our financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. This position will collaborate with the Accounting and Finance team to deliver accurate month-end and year-end close reporting.

This is a remote position with a preferred location in the Eastern or Central time zones.

What You'll Do

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare and review reconciliations for key general ledger accounts, including cash, revenue, deferred revenue, and other balance sheet accounts.

  • Develop and post standard and non-standard journal entries.

  • Analyze and interpret monthly balance sheet and income statement variances.

  • Support revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606, including contract review, revenue calculations, reconciliations, and related journal entries.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations, FP&A, and business stakeholders to ensure proper accounting treatment of new revenue streams, contracts, and business arrangements.

  • Support cash accounting activities, including cash reconciliations, treasury-related accounting, and cash flow reporting.

  • Assist with debt, lease, and treasury-related accounting and reporting activities, as needed.

  • Oversee critical general ledger functions and maintain accounting accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare detailed audit workpapers and supporting schedules.

  • Support compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and corporate accounting policies.

  • Assess, recommend, and implement improvements to accounting policies, procedures, and close processes.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows through technology, ERP enhancements, and AI-enabled finance tools.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Operations to support financial reporting and strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies. 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • CPA license or active progress toward obtaining CPA certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience (public accounting experience strongly preferred).

  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting principles, and internal control frameworks.

  • Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and contract accounting preferred.

  • Experience with cash accounting, treasury accounting, or cash flow reporting preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skills required).

  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite, Workiva, or similar ERP/reporting systems is a plus.

  • Experience in process automation and AI-enabled accounting and finance tools.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and business partnering skills.

  • Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility within the Accounting organization. 

How We'll Take Care of You

  • Base salary of $100,000 - $115,000 annually

  • Equity options & annual cash incentives

Pay Transparency Statement

Indigo is committed to competitive and equitable pay for all employees. The listed pay range for this role is a good faith estimate of the hiring range for this position. Compensation offered will be determined based on several factors including an individual’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Benefits Statement

All regular, full-time, permanent employees who work 30 hours or more each week are eligible to enroll in Indigo’s benefits. Additionally, all full-time employees and some parttime employees are eligible for paid time off as outlined above. Based on their role, employees may also be eligible to receive long-term equity incentives and annual cash incentives.
