An executive who has lived in five different European countries over his 24 year career, Georg has strategized for and achieved success in the agriculture industry. As Indigo’s first Head of Europe, he will translate this success in support grower profitability, environmental sustainability, and consumer health within the continent.

Georg has acted as a key business leader over the past fifteen years for Syngenta. As Head Commercial Operations & Strategy EAME, his most recent tenure before joining Indigo, Georg was responsible for the development and implementation of Syngenta’s Strategy & Business development including the digitalization approach across EAME. Important aspects of his work included ensuring alignment across the regions, improving the customer experience & focusing on commercial capability development within the organization. In previous roles Georg successfully headed & grew Syntenta’s Seedcare EAME business and acted as Head Lawn & Garden EAME, where he also established the consumer business for Syngenta in EAME. He joined in Syngenta as Senior M&A manager in 2003.

Before Syngenta, Georg was a vice president at Deutsche Bank. He was a key leader in the investment bank’s eVentures team, where strategic investments were made in digital companies and platforms. He had started his professional career at Deutsche Bank Group as a consultant in M&A advisory.

Georg holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Albert Ludwigs University, located in Germany. He also studied at the University Paul Valery, Montpellier and the ISG in Paris, France. He speaks five languages, including German, English, French, Spanish and a bit of Danish. Outside of work, he pursues and active lifestyle, with running, tennis, and skiing being some of his favorite hobbies.
