As Chief Science Officer and Global Head of Biological Products, Eric leads Indigo’s biological research and development across the globe, applying his experience in R&D, the agricultural industry, international business strategy, and in building dynamic teams.

Eric joined Indigo from McKinsey & Company where, as Partner, he led McKinsey’s Agricultural and Food Chain activities. In his tenure with the company, Eric worked across all steps of the agricultural and food value, advising clients around the world on technology, strategy, and operations--experience which he applies today to advance the deployment of Indigo’s systems-based tools and technological advancements to farmers across the globe.

Previously, Eric acted as Head of Research and Development Portfolio at Syngenta, where he was responsible for the company’s $1.5B research and development project and capital spend. Prior to that role he led Syngenta’s Corporate Development and its global Marketing platform. Further prior employments, include roles as Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising on corporate and marketing strategy and large-scale capability building, as a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute in machine learning and bio-informatics, and as product manager in the VLSI and software industry.

Eric holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Oxford as well as a Masters in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Bonn in Germany. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
