    With decades of experience driving innovation and new discovery in medicine, Stéphane furthers Indigo’s efforts to transform agriculture for the greater benefit of people and the planet.

    Stéphane has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Moderna Inc., a biotechnology company pioneering messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics and vaccines, since October 2011 and as a member of Moderna’s board of directors since March 2011. Before joining Moderna, Stéphane served for five years as CEO of the French diagnostics company bioMérieux SA. From July 2000 to March 2006, he served in various roles at Eli Lilly and Company, including as Managing Director, Belgium and as Executive Director, Global Manufacturing Strategy and Supply Chain. Prior to Eli Lilly, Stéphane served as Asia-Pacific Sales and Marketing Director for bioMérieux, a world leader in the diagnostics industry.

    Stéphane is also currently a Venture Partner at Flagship Pioneering and a trustee of the Museum of Science in Boston. He holds a Master of Engineering from École Central Paris, an MS in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He was elected a 2009 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and ranked #1 CEO in the biotechnology sector according to the 2011 Thomson Reuters Pan European EXTEL Study.
