Rachel leads the team responsible for bringing Indigo’s mission to growers, with a strong emphasis on improving farm profitability, supporting environmental sustainability, and connecting growers more closely with end consumers.

Rachel joined Indigo in 2015 and spent the first year and a half dedicated to business development, establishing partnerships, and developing the strategy to support Indigo’s rapid early ramp up. Prior to Indigo, Rachel spent eight years at Syngenta where she served in multiple functions including business development, global strategy, and corporate affairs. During her tenure on the global strategy team in Basel, Switzerland, she led the effort to develop an understanding of the key assets, their value, and the strategy to best launch them to growers across the globe. Rachel joined the corporate affairs team in Washington, D.C., to drive growers’ access to technology through regulatory and legislative pathways. She is passionate about agriculture and opportunities to deploy technologies in developing markets that can significantly impact growers’ lives.

Rachel holds undergraduate degrees in Math and Economics from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

"As a society, we ask a lot of our farmers. We not only rely on them to feed an ever growing population, but we ask them to do so while reducing the use of some of their most powerful tools; all while accepting the majority of the financial risk themselves. One of the core pillars of Indigo’s mission is “helping farmers”—supporting them in their pursuit of delivering food to society in the amount and manner we ask of them. I am driven by Indigo’s mission and feel truly privileged to work with this team to bring products to growers that have the potential to create a step-change in crop productivity and support farmers in their quest to grow our food."
